PMT provides inspection and safety coordination services for the modernization of the Vendas Novas Railway Line, a structural project for rail freight transport in Portugal, with an investment of approximately €120 million.

This large-scale intervention includes a comprehensive set of technical improvements along the line, including the replacement of the track superstructure with multipurpose concrete sleepers and 60 E1 rails, as well as the extension, renovation, and modernization of stations such as Muge, Agolada, Lavre, and Vidigal, among other intermediate infrastructures.

The works cover approximately 17 kilometers of railway platform treatment, earthworks, drainage and slope reprofiling, construction and rehabilitation of hydraulic passages and metal pontoons, closure of level crossings and construction of grade-separated crossings, as well as the automation of existing level crossings.

In the field of railway systems, the contract includes work on signaling, cable trays, adaptation of fixed electric traction installations, implementation of RCT+TP systems, work on buildings and technical rooms, and installation of GSM-R towers, which are essential for railway safety and operation.
