The intervention aims to develop a new building for ITV2 – Technological Infrastructure for Vineyards and Wine, as well as the respective outdoor spaces integrated into the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), located on the Vila Real Campus.

The execution project should include a building composed of two interconnected structures.

The predominantly longitudinal development of the building is justified by the need to maximize sun exposure, facilitate pedestrian and vehicle access, and optimize the functional distribution of interior spaces. This option also allows for better integration with the existing infrastructure network and enhances the creation of quality outdoor spaces, favoring the visual and physical relationship between the building, the streets, and the public space of the campus.

The specific requirements of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, the need to ensure universal accessibility, and integration with passive environmental comfort mechanisms, in accordance with the university's strategic guidelines, are also constraints on the development of the project. The project also sought to ensure compatibility with the construction systems and materials used in existing campus buildings, ensuring architectural, functional, and technological consistency with the UTAD building complex.
