PMT was responsible for reviewing the implementation plans for energy efficiency improvement projects in buildings managed by Teatro Nacional de São João, E.P.E., ensuring technical compliance, optimization of solutions, and risk reduction during the construction phase. This work covered three cultural facilities of high heritage and functional relevance: the São João National Theater, the São Bento da Vitória Monastery, and the Wardrobe and Props Workshop.
São João National Theater
The project to improve the energy efficiency of the São João National Theater aims to optimize thermal comfort and indoor air quality, increase user productivity, and extend the building's useful life. The proposed interventions promote decarbonization, reinforce the use of renewable energies for self-consumption, and encourage the adoption of more efficient equipment. The measures will enable a minimum reduction of 30% in primary energy consumption.
Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória
At the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória, the measures under review aim to improve the building's energy and environmental performance by strengthening energy production from renewable sources and promoting resource efficiency. The objectives include a minimum reduction of 30% in primary energy consumption and a 20% reduction in water consumption, contributing to more sustainable practices in the Central Public Administration.
Wardrobe and Props Workshop
For the Wardrobe and Props Workshop, the main focus is on reducing the ecological footprint and supporting the transition to a more sustainable model, in line with European climate targets for 2030 and the ambition of carbon neutrality by 2050. The Energy Audit carried out assessed the building's performance and proposed energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions that will enable a reduction of at least 30% in primary energy consumption.
With this intervention, PMT reinforces its commitment to sustainable engineering, energy efficiency, and the enhancement of cultural heritage, ensuring technically rigorous projects that are aligned with national and European decarbonization goals.
