PMT was responsible for preparing the Implementation Project for the construction of the new facilities for the Seixal Division of the Public Security Police (PSP), under the Infrastructure and Equipment Programming Law for Security Forces and Services.
The proposal developed fully complies with the functional program of the Public Security Police, providing for the construction of a new police station on a plot of land measuring approximately 3,200 m². The building has a construction area of approximately 4,200 m², spread over two floors above ground and one basement floor.
Concept and functional organization
The project proposes a three-story building, two of which are above the highest point of the land, organized in such a way as to create distinct and clearly hierarchical spaces, both inside and outside. The functional layout includes service areas, dormitories, and the Parade Ground, the central element of the complex.
The Parade is completely surrounded by the building, playing a structuring role in the organization of flows and the articulation between the different functional spaces, while ensuring security, operational efficiency, and privacy.
Urban integration and architectural language
Located on a promontory, the building has a markedly horizontal architecture, oriented towards the surrounding landscape and the river visible on the horizon. The architectural solution seeks to establish itself as a landmark public facility, combining institutional presence, functionality, and integration with the urban and landscape context.
This project reflects PMT's experience in developing execution projects for public and security buildings, ensuring rigorous, functional technical solutions that are in line with the legal and operational requirements of the security forces.
