This residential architecture project in Sintra was developed to prioritize comfort, functionality, and a strong connection to the outdoor space. The house, set on a 2,080 m² plot, is organized in an L-shape, forming two distinct bodies that articulate around the pool and leisure areas.

The volume is defined by large walls of natural stone and wood, which support the flat roof and frame the views, promoting a smooth transition between the interior and exterior. This solution allows for a clear separation between the private areas—facing east—and the social and service areas, facing south and west.

Private Areas – Suites overlooking the orchard

The east wing comprises three suites, all with direct views of the fruit trees on the property. The morning light and the tranquility of the natural surroundings define the atmosphere of these spaces, designed to provide comfort, privacy, and well-being.

Social Areas – Spaciousness and connection to the outdoors

The west wing houses the living room, kitchen, and technical areas, ensuring a continuous relationship with the outdoor living spaces and the pool. The south-facing orientation maximizes the use of natural light and thermal comfort.

Entrance and functional layout

Access to the property is via Azinhaga do Eirado, through a sliding gate and a pedestrian gate, accompanied by a ramp and a staircase that overcome the uneven terrain. There are two points of entry into the house:

➡ the main hall, located at the north corner, or

➡ the covered access next to the technical area, which connects directly to the kitchen.

Landscape integration and sustainability

The entire house is surrounded by green spaces, designed with native species, fruit trees, and cultivation areas, reinforcing the connection to nature and promoting sustainability. At the western end, a large outdoor living space connects to the pool and technical facilities, creating a spacious and fluid environment for leisure moments.
