PMT was responsible for designing the renovation and expansion project for Quinta da Flamenga, located in Vialonga, in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, as part of an integrated urban development operation included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The main objective of the project was to create a structured and sustainable urban design capable of promoting the revitalization of an abandoned space, reconciling the identity of the place, the existing built landscape, and contemporary architecture. The proposal is based on studies carried out by the multidisciplinary prospecting and investment office of the Vila Franca de Xira City Council, ensuring consistency with the municipal strategy for urban and social regeneration.

The intervention establishes a clear distinction between existing built heritage and new construction, ensuring the temporal legibility of the complex and allowing for future adaptations without compromising the consolidated architecture. This approach ensures the enhancement of the history of the place, while responding to current housing, commercial, and social needs.

The urban development proposal provides for the creation of a housing complex consisting of five blocks, four of which are new buildings and the fifth is the result of the partial renovation of an existing building, integrating it coherently into the complex. The project also includes the renovation of part of the old sanatorium, which will house the future premises of the Parish Council, reinforcing the civic and community dimension of the intervention.

The complex also includes qualified outdoor areas, circulation zones, leisure spaces, and support areas, including the Parish Council's support yard, promoting a functional and balanced relationship between the buildings and the public space.

PMT was responsible for the architectural design and all specialties, ensuring an integrated, technical, and multidisciplinary approach focused on urban regeneration, social cohesion, and sustainability of the territory.
